Fast and Fun New Years Eve Party Tips!

Fast and Fun New Years Eve Party Tips!

Ring in the New Year with some festive ideas for your New Years Eve Celebration!  We love a great glass of champagne to ring in the New Year, but with this delicious and very simple recipe, you can have your champagne in a fun and sparkly Jell-O shot!

What you will need for 15 Champagne Shots:

10 oz plus 5oz champagne (Don’t feel the need to break the bank on your bottle of Champagne, sometimes the less expensive bottles tend to be sweeter and tastes better!)
1 tablespoon sugar
3 envelopes Knox plain gelatin (Tip!: There are three envelopes in one box of Gelatin) Colored Sparkling Sugar (Feel Free to add a few drops of food coloring to add some color to the sugar if you do not have access to colored sugar)

How to prepare these sweet treats:

Place 10 oz of the champagne and sugar in a sauce pan and then sprinkle gelatin on top. Let gelatin soften for about 2 minutes.

Place saucepan over low heat and stir until gelatin has completely dissolved, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and add in remaining 5 oz of champagne and stir to combine.

Pour mixture into a pan or glass dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. The colder the Jell-O the easier it will be to cut into squares with little slide.

To release the Jell-O, dip the pan into warm water for less than a minute and use a knife along the sides to gently release. Use a sharp knife to cut squares.

Dip the tops in the sparkling sugar and serve with a festive toothpick.

Lay a layer of your sparkling sugar in the bottom of your serving piece as this will prevent any slipping while cutting them apart later.

Keep the prepared Jell-O shots in the refrigerator until guests arrive!

Cheers and Happy New Year!

Michelle and Brandon- Secret Garden Ceremony

Michelle and Brandon were married in March at the Arizona Biltmore.  I can honestly say that this is one of those weddings where we felt like a celebrity planner.  I had so many guests staying at the resort comment on how beautiful it was.  I even had some people film us as we were setting up.  Hollywood we are ready for our close up!

Michelle and Brandon’s inspired wedding was featured on the One Hundred Layer Cake blog, so we thought it would be great to showcase their wedding on the blog today! The bride and groom attended the University of Arizona, but did not end up meeting until they were both living in Los Angeles years later and set up by a friend.

Clearly Michelle knew her wedding was going to be breathtaking.  But she did want to keep it private.  A beautiful and private jewel of a wedding.

The Historic Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, Arizona was the perfect location for the Bride and Groom. The ceremony was inspired by the idea of a “secret garden”, and one of our goals was to make it as private as possible in such a public place. Michelle’s Mom is a talented interior designer (add that to uber organized) and was a perfect match to work with Victoria locally.

Michelle fell in love with the idea of incorporating greens to keep the look fresh and garden-esque.  An open air tent was created to farm the large chuppah with still allowing for the view of the Arizona Mountains.

The bougainvillea laying on top of the chuppah was one of our favorite details of the ceremony. Petal Pusher did an amazing job to weave all of the floral into the chuppah to achieve the organic and lush look that Michelle envisioned. This look is not easy to get and as Victoria always says, Tamara{with Petal Pusher} MUST have the strongest hands from all that spraying she does to keep the floral looking fresh and vibrant!

This program was another one of our favorites! Celebrations in Paper used the watercolor design and colors from their invitations to create this fold up program that was a secret in itself! Guests were able to learn more about the couple and, the traditions that filled the ceremony, and the best part…. it fits in a pocket or clutch!

The crest that was hanging at their ceremony was inspired by a crest created by Michelle’s Maid of Honor. The mountains behind the monogram symbolize the breathtaking Arizona backdrop of this couple’s special wedding destination. The two dogs represent Michelle and Brandon’s dog Nellie, there are two because animals are traditionally mirrored in crests. The three symbols above the crest are from the University of Arizona’s crest, where both Michelle and Brandon went to school. You can also find floral similar to the arrangements at the wedding, their wedding date, and a design bordering the top that is inspired by the architecture of the Arizona Biltmore.

Fall In Love With The Flowers

Posted In Featured Events

Fall in love with flowers at NACE. Florists from around the Valley came together to educate attendees about this season’s floral trends. Each florist was asked to create unique and beautiful arrangements inspired by their own interpretation of fall elements. Guests were then able to apply this information when making their own arrangements that were donated after the event.

The attendees were welcomed with pumpkins painted in various shades that matched the color palette of the event. As the event continued, they felt a relaxed vibe by being in a familiar place, a florist studio!

Fall floral in burgundy, green, deep blue, and pops of mustard filled the room. Victoria Canada Weddings and Events was inspired not only by the season but by the floral itself. Victoria came up with a specialty drink “Honey Crisp Apple Sangria” with its own apple floral from Pour Masters Bartending Services. Tables were a deep eggplant with linen from Southwick Linen. No two tables had the same centerpieces and at the end of the event, the arrangements were given away to a couple lucky guests!

There was plenty to eat for the attendees. Floral inspired fruit bouquets along with other delicious treats were waiting for the guests for dessert!

During dessert, the Floral Panel with the local florists from Petal Pusher , Lux Wedding Florist , Encore Creative, Fred’s Signature Floral Events, and Table Tops Etc., took the stage to answer questions about social media, working with other vendors, and how to create floral for different types of events.

Everyone loves a photo booth, especially when it replicates a garden! The background from The HIP Photobooth was astro turf with a gorgeous floral arch where the guests stood under for the fun photo. Paper flowers and flower sunglasses were just a few of the floral inspired props!

Bold, Bright, and Ladylike Bridal Shower

When our Bride told us she wanted a Kate Spade inspired bridal shower, we were beyond thrilled. I mean, who wouldn’t want to help create an event with options as classic and timeless as everything Kate Spade! The shower ended up being just that with a mix of classic and modern looks and pops of glitter everywhere you looked!

Our Bride had her Wedding in Newport Beach and used muted pastels throughout the event to match the coastal feel, so we were so excited to be able to incorporate more bold colors into her bridal shower.

Arcadia Farms in Phoenix, Arizona was the perfect place for this outdoor, brunch shower. From the start we knew we wanted the focus to be the classic yet graphic black and white stripes and polka dots that always seem to be oh so Kate Spade.

We also wanted to add our own creative touches to the event. Napkins were the perfect way to mix designs to add personality! We folded the napkins into bows and finished them off with a touch of glitter ribbon in the middle for a fun feminine touch.

For the floral we wanted something fun and unique but that would not take away from the rest of the décor. Petal Pusher popped the arrangements with colorful monochromatic centerpieces. But the icing on the cake was the gold sequins in each vase to add that perfect bit of sparkle in the water.

Brooke loves to give gifts so we knew the favors had to be extra fabulous and creative. Champagne is a necessity at any brunch and the bride loved the idea of having one more excuse to share some with her guests. We picked Pommery POP Rose because of the cute mini bottles they come in and the delicious Rose taste (we used bottles of bubbles for the kids!) With a little bit of confetti and a Kate Spade inspired quote “Pop Some Bubbly, Throw Some Confetti” the favors turned out more like décor and were a huge hit.

Other favorite elements were the bold pink chair ties that added the perfect amount of color, the custom signs for the mini cakes (“Eat Cake for Breakfast”) and drinks (“Mimosas In The Morning” and “Bellini’s for Breakfast”).

Of course, the beautiful Bride to be was outfitted in Kate Spade from head to toe!”
